SIMA Silver Jubilee Year 30Th NOV 2003
South Indian Maharashtrian Association (SIMA) was founded in 1978 as a registered association to promote Social, Cultural and Economic aspects of Maharashtrians, who come from south, more specific from Tanjore and staying in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for more than three decades. There are about 500 families and they have been actively associated with other communities, while retaining their individuality and recognition as South Indian Maharashtrians. SIMA has  also  extended its  activities to community at large by undertaking/sponsoring medical and orthopedic camps  for the poor and needy people. SIMA earned  recognition  for the good work done by SIMA and letters of appreciation from the Collectors of the districts of Vikarabad,Ranga Reddy and Mehboobnagar .

The members of SIMA comprise of various professionals besides many have earned national and international fame.

By virtue of the domicile in state of AP SIMA has easily associated to the native culture and contributed to the welfare of people living in the state

Late Sri A.G Raghotham Rao, Retired Chief Engineer, Govt of AP was the founder President of SIMA.

SIMA had commendable activities for the past 27 years concentrated on the welfare of not only their community but also other communities  in general. SIMA has granted scholarships for needy & meritorious students, helping the poor in their various causes and in creating database for matrimonial assistance.

SIMA has been secular in its approach, cosmopolitan in its policies, liberal in its outlook. It took aspirations of every other linguistic community.
